Busy, Busy, Busy

Well it's been a while since my last post because, well, Mallory and I haven't been home very much. Last Saturday we had a morning full of errands, and then spent the afternoon at Kristin and Matt's house having a playdate with Molly. The girls were really cute together, though they have the same pacifier, so we had to keep track of them since they like to take them out of each other's mouth.

We then trekked a little farther down the road and had dinner with Auntie Kristin at Fridays. Mallory was her usual perfect self, though she was definitely getting a bit tired, so we didn't get a chance to go in and see Kristin and Terrell's apartment. Looks like we will just have to make another trip!

Mommy had a loooong drive up to PA saturday night (ok, I will never complain about the drive up 15 from my condo because the drive up 83 is just awful!). Mal and I skipped church Sunday morning so we could catch up on our sleep (much appreciated Gummy and Pop Pop!) and then we spent the afternoon celebrating Pop Pop and his award from the Demolay (ok, I really hope I spelled that right).

We continued our stay in PA this week because mommy had a recruiting event at LVC (so, I feel so old compared to those kids) and CPE in Harrisburg. It was my day to work from home today and I felt very productive; I can't see the light at the end of the work tunnel yet, but we are making progress. I hope this productivity continues into Thursday and Friday because I am soooo looking forward to having a very relaxing weekend with my little BFF. For the first time in I couldn't tell you how long, we don't have any plans; phew!

Go Phillies!!!!

Well, the Luckenbaugh family may be divided on their football teams --Steelers, Eagles and Cowboys, but we are certainly united on the baseball front....GOOOOOO PHILLIES!!!

I searched for a phillies shirt for her, but came up with nothing. Gummy came to the rescue and even found a shirt for her that matched mine. Gotta cheer for our man Utley!

On Sunday, Mal's 8-month birthday (gosh, how time is flying) we took her to her first Phillies game. She even got a first game certificate! (Thanks AmyJo for letting us know about that). The first few innings were a bit slow, but she certainly kept us (and the people in the row behind us) entertained. She decided to take snooze mid-way through the game and actually made it up on the big screen in centerfield! Gee, I got a celebrity on my hands.

The Phillies were down going into the last inning, but they came through. Jason Werth hit a walkoff homerun!!! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect first game! We're looking forward to the playoffs...Mal's gotta get some more wear outta that shirt!

Bodily Functions

Now, I can always count on my little girl to make me smile and laugh. Usually it's because she is smiling or laughing with me or playing with big brother Acey.

But just last night, as I was trying to catch up on work...I'm sitting in bed with my laptop working on a dreaded LM-2 (for those of you not in the accounting field, this form is just AWFUL! and completely pointless in my opinion) and I hear her start to stir through the baby monitor. She settled down on her own pretty quickly and just as the monitor goes quiet...I hear her tooting away. I about rolled off the bed laughing. I went over to check on her and sure enough, she is out cold.

And tonight, we were getting ready for her bath. I had her all wrapped up in her towel like usual and just as we get to the bathroom I feel warmth coming through the towel. I got her all settled in the tub and looked down at my soaking wet shirt. I totally got peed on!

But that wasn't the only issue we faced tonight. We got out of the tub and got all changed into pj's. I put her in her playpen, so I could clean up dinner, wash bottles, pack my lunch for tomorrow, etc. About 10 minutes later I start to smell something coming from her direction. I look down, she is just sitting there playing with her toys, but on the other side of the playpen is a huge brown stain on the carpet. At first, I yelled at Ace for going in the house (which he never ever does!) but then I realized I always shut the door to her playpen (and it was shut now), so there was no way for him to get in there. I picked her up and her legs and butt were just covered with poop. She had pooped soooooo much that it came out of her diaper, through her sleeper and onto the carpet! Good thing I had some Resolve Shot Spot on hand!

It was quite a challenge to change her after that, as to try to get the sleeper over her head without getting poop everywhere....and we had to take another small bath in the sink. Of course my shirt was dirty from carrying her back to her room to change her, so we just decided to do a small load of laundry to wash all mine and her pee and poop covered clothes!

She is peacefully sleeping now....8 o'clock on the dot with her. We will see what tomorrow brings. It's never a dull moment in this house!

Acey is home!

It looks like in all the craziness of the last week, I forgot to mention that Acey is finally home with me! Gummy and Pop Pop were wonderful for watching the little guy while the A/C was getting fixed and until I had settled into a good rountine with Mal, but he is finally home with me.

He is so good with Mallory. She pulls his fur and yanks his tail and he just sits there and acts like she isn't doing anything at all. He does like to give her kisses...a lot...but whenever she is annoyed by them, she just pushes him away and he goes and minds his own business.

It's a little crazy trying to take him out at night and first thing in the morning because obviously I can't leave Mallory in her crib all alone. So, I end up packing her in the car seat and plopping that in the big stroller; we have to take the elevator up and down (which adds significant time to all our trips!) and getting in and out of our locked front door with everything was a bit challenging at first; now, I got it down like it's nothing.

Though it is definitely a big challenging, I love my little Acey and I am soooo happy to have him home!

Mal's first Labor Day Weekend

With being off on 3 months of maternity leave and using everything that I had saved up going to Stone Harbor for a week, my vacation time at work is zilch. So I am always excited when a holiday approaches because it means I have a free day to spend with my little BFF.

It was a wonderful, wonderful weekend! Mallory I and slept in on Saturday(yes, I brought her into bed with me, because I wanted to snuggle!) and then make our usual short time to Gummy and Pop Pop's house.

We spent the day shopping with Gummy and found Mal's Halloween costume (she's gonna be a cute little lady bug!) and of course did some fall clothes shopping using all of the coupons I have hoarded over the last few months.

Sunday was an extremely fun and relaxing day. We went to Little Buffalo State Park, a place I hadn't visited in probably a good 10 years. We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, took walks around the grounds, snoozed a little and just enjoyed everyone's company.

Monday, Mommy got a free day and went to the US Open with Pop Pop. We saw some great matches and for the first time in a few years, the heat wasn't all that bad. I did get a little sunburn on the right side of my body, but it disappeared within a day. Mallory had a fun day with Gummy and Acey and Gummy was able to get her to sleep in their PacknPlay all night for the first time! Gooooo Gummy!

Here's looking forward to our next three day weekend....We're heading to Williamsburg!

Big Surprise for Mommy

So yesterday I was trying to catch up on all of Miss Mallory's laundry (I cannot believe how many clothes this child has!). Mal was playing in her crib and I was folding and getting everything put away. I turned around at one point and them this little laugh/scream came from her. I turned around and...

It was kind of late, and I was a little sleep deprived from being at the US Open the day before, so I made the executive decision to let Mal sleep with me (good thing I got the bed rails for my bed over the weekend!) and worry about dropping the crib tomorrow. I did get around to lowering the crib today, so her view when she stands is a little more like this...
